Good morning. The aisles at Staples and Target are filled with parents and children searching for items on the dreaded school list. A Tell tale sign that the calendar is about to turn to September. I don’t know about you, but I feel like Memorial Day was yesterday. Oh well, as they say onward! Two great things about September and back to school are the promise of crisp days and flipping though fall fashion magazines to learn how we will be dressing. I am extremely excited this year, I have my Basic Classic Wardrobe down so updating my closet will be a cinch. I know real women are not ready for fall shopping yet but here are 3 colors we will be seeing when we journey to the mall this fall / winter 2010. Picture of the Week

Happy Monday, it’s hard to believe summer is in its last few weeks. I love this picture, for me, it represents what summer is all about. The ocean, sun, sand , fun and of coarse, whimsy. I don’t think there is one of us who hasn’t drawn a heart in the sand at some point in our lives. Looking at this photo reminds me of the countless summers with my family, at the Jersey shore, spending the entire day at the beach with a swarm of family and friends. Those days are long gone but the memories only a photo away. Enjoy!

Fashion Friday – REALLY?

Really????

I don’t need proof that Achievable Fashion is much needed, but it’s always nice when I come across something that really confirms that what I am doing is Spot On. First, as always, let me admit that I am not a fashion expert and most likely never will be. My only mission is to make fashion Effortless for Real Women. In fact when I forecast the fall 2010 trends you will see I make things very simple – I show you what is going on in fashion – and how to adapt it into your Classic Wardrobe. – (The Achievable Fashion Basic Classic Wardrobe) Sort of a Fashion for dummies if you will, What I do know about fashion is that I need to get dressed every day and I would like to not only look good, but also look like I have a clue of what’s going on in the fashion world – oh, and I don’t want to spend hours in my closet. Here are some looks I came across while doing my fall 2010 fashion trend research. These looks confirm my theory that there needs to be a bridge built between the runways and the closets of Real Women! (Achievable Fashion !)- I have only one question? “Do any of these looks really work for Real Women?”
See you soon!

Fashion Friday – Help I Have a Closet Full of Clothes and Nothing to Wear!

Ok, if this is you, (it’s all of us) we have the solution. First and foremost, just in case I forgot to formally do so, let me introduce myself. I am a busy mom, I have a beautiful 5 year old little boy, Luigi, who is as busy as he is beautiful. I have 2 new businesses , I also teach and oversee a business course at the local cosmetology school, all while keeping Luigi front and center and first on my list. So the last thing I need is to have a closet full of clothes and nothing to wear, which has lead me on this journey of creating Achievable Fashion. My goal is help Real Women all over the world make sense out of their closets and to have fashion become Achievable. So first, we all need to create / Build a Basic Classic Wardrobe. From these key classic pieces we are able to put together outfits for any occasion! Second, we need to be able to make sense of the current fashions and implement them into our lives, keeping in mind that the fashion world has never understood that busy moms have no time, money, or need for what comes down the Runway – Breath – after saying all that I have made it my mission to clear up all the confusion and befuddlement that comes along with fashion.

Here is a great article, “8 Ways to Dress up your Tee” from InSyle mag, that supports my theory that as long as we have a Basic Classic Wardrobe – we can do anything and everything with it. Here are 8 different ways to wear one of the key pieces in the Achievable Fashion Basic Classic Wardrobe – the tee shirt. This is what we are all about – getting more with less and making Fashion Effortless.

A vest can add a sweet / tough look .
With a textured skirt a graphic tee will pop.
A scarf dresses up a plain tee.
A jacket – beaded or little – will jazz up your tee.

DIY tee – spatter some paint or dye on an old tee to be arty and edgy.
A statement necklace will add the WOW factor!
Formal shorts make an over-sized tee sexy.
Scrunch the sleeves – for the boyfriend tee look.

Picture of the Week

Well happy Monday morning? Today I will be completing my last day of a three day training, so I have not had the luxury of enjoying a normal weekend. The training was wonderful, I meet great people, learned some tips on how to execute a better class, so I am not complaining about going, I am just a little off because I have not had my normal weekend where I get to wander around, do as I please, and savor my no need to look at a clock time. Having said that, I am enjoying my me time this morning , coffee in hand getting my photo of the week together. Does anything say renewal more than spring? Does anything say spring more than sight of tulips? We are so lucky in Albany to have an amazing display of tulips each year. Today’s photo of the week was taken this year. These tulips remind me of angels.

If you are a tulip lover like me, you must check out Angela Caputo’s collection of photo from this years Tulip Feast. Have a great day!
