Trend Tuesday – 1 Little Black Dress – 6 Looks!

I firmly stand behind the idea that if you have the Achievable Fashion Basic Classic Wardrobe (BCW) you will be ready for any occasion in no time. If you take the time to build the BCW once, your closet will become your best friend. If you follow the rules in our book, Achievable Fashion, everything in your closet will fit you like a glove and make you look fabulous. You will no longer be fighting, “a closet full of clothes and nothing to wear”. You will be more creative with fewer pieces. This blog is one of my favorites to date. It shows how 4 accessories; a scarf, pin, and set of earrings can make a simple little black dress gala worthy. The first look is with the scarf wrapped around the shoulders, tied and secured with a pin. I have placed the matching clip earrings on the shoes. For the second look I tied the scarf in front and draped half in the back and half in the front, again, securing with the pin. For the third look I tied the scarf around the neck like a bow and secured the pin in the middle. The fourth look I repeated the bow, but this time around the waist. Pin center of the bow. (Look number 4 is my favorite, I wore the scarf in the same way with a turtle neck and dress pants to an open house and everyone went crazy!) The fifth look I draped the scarf to the back with 1/3 over the chest, secured with clip earrings and Hollywood tape. Finally, look 6 I draped 1/3 of the scarf over the back, secured with one earing and Hollywood tape, draped the other over the body to the opposite hip and secured with other earring, pin and Hollywood tape. Wow! When you have a great wardrobe foundation you can multiply your closet with each trend or accessory.

5 Great things from Lucky Magazine!

Remember when purchasing the fashion magazines and sitting around on a Sunday with girlfriends was all we had to do? We should have realized how precious time was and savored every moment. As you know, those days are long gone. As busy women we are lucky if we get to open a magazine at all. I created Achievable Fashion to make fashion Effortless for Real Women. Part of making fashion simple is sifting through the sea of fashion information and pulling out the pieces that us busy woman can actually use. Here are 5 things from the November issue of Lucky Magazine that I think are very useful.

3. Style evolution: Berrets.
This article is a fun look at berrets over the years and 5 great updated versions.

4. Lucky How to -Winter Coats Great article to see what coats are in and how to wear them!

5. Holiday Jewelry – With the holidays right around the corner these jewels are fun for parties. There are 2 pieces very nicely priced!

Help I have 2 Different Cup Sizes!

I had no idea that you could purchase a bra that has 2 different cup sizes. It is actually more common than you think for a women to need a bra with different cup sizes. Fruit of the Loom has just the bra for this. This is really neat, you actually purchase each bra side separately, in the correct size, and they fit together. Please share this information with anyone you know who needs it.

Ok, you know one of our jobs at Achievable Fashion is to report anything that will us help Real Women with fashion,we sift through the nonsense and pull out what is useful. Here is something we LOVE. The instant button. Looking at this I am wondering where has this been for the last 41 years of my life. This is a button that you can use to either take away or add to the waist of your pants. I swear I think I can gain or lose 5lbs a day depending on how I breathe, forget about when I scarf down a dozen cider doughnuts. I think most of us go up and down 6 – 8lbs. (If you are one of the lucky ones that stays the same all the time, good for you, tune in tomorrow when we can help you, yes you hear sarcasm.) I know instead of looking for fixes in our waistline we should probably get a grip on our eating, but reality leans toward a life filled with ups and downs on the scale, so here is the answer – The Instant Button! Okay, now that the kids are back to school and we have had some time to breathe, its time for us Real Women to update our wardrobes for the fall 2010 season. Trend Tuesday – Fur Is Here!

Fur is huge this season! I am surprised to say that real fur has made a huge comeback. We are seeing fur everywhere – trimmings on collars and hats along with vests, coats and much more. If you are not a fan of real fur there are many fake fur versions for you. Fur is a great way to fall / winterize your wardrobe. Grab anything with fur, a scarf , vest, sweater or coat and add it into your Basic Classic Wardrobe -off you go down Trendy Lane!
