Straw Bags – Not Just for the Beach Anymore!

Here is another trend I love from the April issue of Allure Magazine. The natural bag! There is nothing that says spring / summer than a natural bag. There was a time when these bags were for the beach only. Well I am happy to say these are not your Mama’s straw bags!

Naturally, the bags highlighted here are a bit over budget for us Achievable Fashion Ladies. So like always I have made it my job to source out straw bags that are on budget. After all, I live to make fashion achievable to all! If you flip through this Allure Magazine and like the look of the bags on this page, a closer look would have you believing this is a look you can’t achieve. Not the case at all.

Clear Heels – Spring 2013 Trend

I just flipped through this month’s Allure Magazine. By now you should know my gig is to find the best fashion information and report it on the Achievable Fashion Magazine. By best fashion information I mean useful fashion information. Let’s face it the fashion world caters to the ultra – rich and the ultra – thin so a lot of the fashion stuff out there does not apply to the masses and there for is non-useful.

After searching through sea of fashion info each month I report what I think real women – the masses can use. I found 2 trends in the Allure April issue that I think we can all add into our lives. The first trend is the clear heel. I love the look of this clear heel. Be careful with this trend, there is a fine line between trendy and trashy on this one. Just search clear shoe on Google and you will see what I mean.

Naturally the clear shoes that Allure highlighted come with hefty price tags, the least expensive is $325.00. From $325 the prices steadily climb until they reach $1195.00! Yikes! This is why I created Achievable Fashion, who can really spend $325 – $1195 on a pair of shoes that will most likely be out next season. I know I can’t.

I pride myself for bringing the runways, magazines and red carpets to average women’s closets. So like I always do, I have found some much cheaper clear heel shoe choices for you. Although the choices I found are much less than the shoes Allure magazine is showing, you will still have to pay a bit to add these to your wardrobe this season. Usually I like to find trends under $50 – making it very budget friendly, but with this one I could not.

Sometimes we just have to spend a bit more.

Ippolita Ring – Magazine to Real Life

Another favorite of mine from the March issue of Bazar Magazine is this Ippolita ring. The Color is stunning; the water affect is a big spring 2013 trend. This ring will look gorgeous with an all-white ensemble and matching blue earrings. Perfect for those warm nights to come!

Take the needle off the record…at $1,095.00 I realized I can’t have it. Like most other things in the fashion magazines this ring is out of range financially for most of us, what I affectionately call the masses.

So as always, off to work I went to find the Achievable Fashion alternative for me, and the masses; the Magazine to Real Life version if you will.

Check out this almost perfect version for those of us who are part of the mass! I also found her sister earrings. Its days like these that make me think, hot diggity dog I’m good!

Pearl Rings – Magazine to Real Life

The March Bazar Magazine has a ton of things I love! I have already reported some of my favs and more will follow! Here is a photo, from “The Party” – Chic Soirees, The best entertaining tips from top designers, showing some gorgeous pearl rings.

I am a lover of fantastic cocktail rings. A few fabulous cocktail rings are a must in every ladies wardrobe. Included in those few has to be a fabulous pearl ring! The rings in this photo fit the bill; they are big, bold, and a statement they make.

Financially however, unless you are among the elite there is no way you are getting your hands on them. In fact there are no prices, which means, holy price tag. So for those of us who aren’t willing to take out a second mortgage on our home to purchase a cocktail ring, here are two wonderful choices. Is that Magazine to Real Life or what?

Achievable Fashion’s Favorite Spring 2013 Shoe Trends!

Okay, now that I have your attention, don’t worry these aren’t in! Run, don’t walk, to the nearest salon /spa where pedicures are on their menu! Why, it is finally time to say goodbye to our boots and say hello to open toes and less coverage. If you are like me, yikes, is what you are thinking. Get ready; this is what we wait all winter for!

Okay, if you’re anything like me, you love the look of accessories in the hair – but when you attempt to put them in, you end up looking like you belong on the “how not to wear hair accessories page!”

In my constant search for information that will help you along your fashion and beauty journey, I found this article in Allure, “The 10 Commandments of Hair Accessories.” There are some great tips on how not to wear hair accessories – hopefully keeping us all off the “how not to wear hair accessories page!”

Achievable Fashion Loves the Carrie Necklace!

Sex and the City represented so many things to so many. For me, it represented and still represents the ultimate bond that women share. No matter where or what life brings us, great friends are there every step of the journey.

It is hard to talk about Sex and the City and not mention the Carrie Necklace. I can’t think of another piece of jewelry that has so much meaning attached to it. The Carrie Necklace represents friendships, independence, strength, and being true to who you are. I think the Carrie Necklace, is a reminder that no matter how many roles I play, mother, friend, daughter, teacher, sister, etc. I must remain true to myself. I have to remain me, who I am, what I want, and what I believe. If we are true to ourselves, we can then excel in all our roles.

Do you recall when Carrie lost her necklace? I remember the desperation I felt for Carrie when she thought she lost her necklace. It wasn’t about the necklace; it was about Carrie losing herself.

I think every woman should have a Carrie Necklace. I think she should wear it once in a while as a reminder to stay true to herself. If we stay true to ourselves, no matter what roles we play we never lose who we are!

Add a Printed Scarf to your Closet!

Prints are hot right now. Here is how we saw prints walk down the runway.

Call me crazy, but I think these are overkill for the average woman. In my quest to bring the Runway to Real life I came across these fabulous scarves. I think they are a great way to add prints to our lives. There is no need to be dressed head to toe in any given trend. A simple printed scarf can do the trick! In fact most of the time I think less is way more when it comes to adding trends into your life!
