Greetings! Welcome to 2018 fall fashion trends. Probably right about now, you are thinking – fall fashion, excuse me, where did summer go? I’m not sure why, but each year right around mid-September I scratch my head in disbelief that not only has summer passed, but October is quickly approaching. YIKES!

I realize the fashion world is introducing spring 2019 as we speak – reality, most of us are just now realizing its time to figure out what we will be wearing when the leaves turn.

As always, here’s a blurb on my mission. If you are familiar with Achievable Fashion — fast forward.

First, important to note, I am not an authority on fashion, not trying to be, don’t want to be. I am obsessed with systems! I kind of consider myself a systems guru. Systems simplify everything! Greetings, Welcome to Marie Claire June 2018 Look for Less.

My goal — find budget friendly alternatives, to not so budget friendly magazine choices. This is my clever way of building a bridge that connects the fashion world to your closet.

In many cases, I quickly find Look for Less choices and easily link to them. These are the days that my job is a breeze! There are other days, when finding great choices takes much longer. These are the days my job is not so easy breezy. Then there are those rare days when it is nearly impossible to find what I am looking for. These are the days I spend pulling my hair out! I have two choices on these days; quit or source my own product.

Such is the case with the Dolce & Gabbana necklace, featured on page 12 in the June 2018 issue of Marie Claire. I searched for hours to find a budget friendly version of this necklace. After no luck and a bit less hair, I headed to one of my go to manufacturers.I am pleased with the Look for Less version. It can be found in The Achievable Fashion Look for Less Store.

I fell in love with this Dolc & Gabbana beauty at hello! It was the first item I marked in this issue.(page12) I then proceeded to pull my hair out trying to find a Look for Less version. Sometimes when things are unusually hard to find, I leave them aside. Not this one! I was bound an determined to find something. Is this an exact match, no. Am I going for an exact match – no. I think this has a similar look and feel. And hey, the price makes it doable. I am very proud of this Look for Less!

Love this Versace belt!(page 49) BUT..1,225.00 ouch! I found this Look for Less at Target! Woot!

Love this Farragamo bag! (page 56) Not sure if $2200.00 is in my budget right now! Love this budget friendly choice. Found at Baginc.

I have just completed flipping through the May/June issue of W Magazine. Of course, as always, I enjoyed flipping cover to cover. Pages filled with beautiful people adorned with the lasted and greatest in fashion. Beautiful page after beautiful page… Take the needle off the record!

As much as I appreciated page after page filled with frivolous pomp, noting was very practical. There wasn’t anything I could add to my life. This is the disconnect between the fashion world and closets everywhere. Since one of my jobs is to create a bridge from the fashion magazines to your closet; I selected 5 favorites from this flip and, you guessed it, found practical alternatives.(Images are not mine — screen shots from W Magazine.)

This bright pink look is fabulous! BUT, not practical. The gorgeous top, found at Macys, is the practical way to wear the look.

Love, love, love this shoe!!! I did not search this shoes origin, however, it is most likely way over budget! Also the heel is not practical. We found a practical version at Payless.

Example above, I don’t know anyone who would be able to wear the full length sequin gown while picking the kids up from school, do you? So the question becomes, how do I add trends to my closet? Answer, one trend at a time.

Above are the everyday versions of the trends, how we, everyday women add trends to our closets. Magazines show the trends, but don’t explain how to add them to your life easily and inexpensively. To keep up with the fashion world, one needs to purchase an entire new wardrobe each season! Not with Achievable Fashion. We have you build your wardrobe once and done. Neutral equals mileage.

1. Any new item, trend or other, that is added to your closet must work well with what you already own. Otherwise it will be cast off, to the Island of Fashion Misfits; the every growing pile of nothing to wear that lives in your closet!

2. If planning to purchase multiple trends this season, be sure they can be worn together. The ability to wear trends together will multiply your looks.

3. Neutral equals mileage. There is nothing wrong with having fun with colors and textures. After all, trends are meant to be fun. Just keep in mind that you will be able to wear neutral items with more things than multicolored ones. .
