My mission with Achievable Fashion and the Achievable Fashion Report is to have one place to report trends. Along with reporting trends I make them user friendly and find what you need to achieve them. It has always been my belief that fashion and beauty is just too complicated for the average. First of all, no one has the time to find out what is going on – not to mention figure out how to make it friendly.
Let’s talk about these cool new waves we are seeing. I ripped this trend from the December Allure Issue. This wave is very relaxed, very casual – these looks are from the spring 2013 runways.

Okay, have you ever looked at a classic beauty with red lips and thought, “I could do that?”Then you did it only to look like a fool… I have. In fact I can’t seem to get red lips right.
I have dark hair, dark eyes –so dark you can barely see my pupils – so one might think red would look great on me. A no-brainer. Not so much.
So I figure if I, an intelligent woman who happens to be in the beauty industry has a hard time getting red lips right, than perhaps some of you do too. Which is the very reason I decided to share this article –“The Rules of Red Lipstick” – Good Housekeeping Magazine with you.

Why? Well, because there is nothing worse than a head of straggly hair!
If you struggle with thinner hair you know exactly what I am talking about. When I came across this article in Oprah I knew I had to share it on the Achievable Fashion Beauty Report! Which I am so excited to say is finally here!

Follow the tricks for thicker hair in this article and you will see a big difference in your hair.
I have been on the search for an article on special occasion bras. A sort of “What every woman needs in her special occasion bra wardrobe.” Since I haven’t found one that I like and the holiday parties are beginning, I guess I have to write my very own. (Please let the records show, I much prefer finding great articles that are already written!)
Let’s name this; “I’m lucky if I can find the right outfit for the party, so chances are I don’t have the right bra! Can someone just tell me what I need in my bra drawer and tell m where I can buy it!”
Okay that name — is really how Achievable Fashion was born. I wanted someone to tell me why I was a fashion miss, what I needed to fix it, and where I could get it. Since no one seemed to be able to, I had to do it all myself.
Blah Blah.
Okay remember part of my gig is to have a system for everything including our wardrobes. My wardrobe system is this, figure out what you need to have and get it! (Simple right. Yes, but don’t confuse simple with easy. Building a wardrobe is time consuming and aggravating.) However, if we take the time to build our wardrobes our lives will be that much easier. So let’s focus on our special occasion bra wardrobe.
Since I still don’t have the right special occasion bra wardrobe – I am assuming there are a few of you who are also lacking in this department. So here is what we should all have in our special occasion bra drawer.
For times when we are wearing a racer back top or dress we need a racer back bra.
For plunging necklines we need a deep-front convertible bra.
For low backs / backless we have two options. We can get a backless adhesive bra. We can also get this neat gadget that can turn all your bras into low back bras. Braza Bra is where I found this neat item. I love this!
I believe our bra drawer should also have a bandeau bra along with a convertible bra.
The bandeau bra is great when you are wearing a lower cut top and cleavage in not appropriate. Inappropriate cleavage is never good!
Our drawer should also have a stock of privacy petals. If you have not heard of these you will love them. There may be nothing worse than getting caught in the frozen food section at the grocery store with a thin shirt and an unpadded bra!
Okay I think that covers it. That’s what you need and I have directed you to where to get it. Okay book mark these two stores. Maiden Form and Braza Bra – if you can’t find what you need at one of these two stores you are out of luck!
Article of the Month – In Style Magazine’s The Best of the Web – 2012!
Congrats to In Style Magazine for being named Achievable Fashion’s Article of the Month! What an honor! OK — it will be much more of an honor when we have 250,000 visitors a month, so for anyone visiting can you please share us with your friends.
So exactly what does it mean to be Achievable Fashions Article of the Month? Let me begin with our mission.
Achievable Fashion has one mission – to rid every woman of her closet full of clothes and nothing to wear. We do this by first helping women build the essential Basic Classic Wardrobe – second, we help women update their look seasonally by bringing the runways to real life. Thirdly we place the greatest fashion information in one place so women don’t have to search for it. Really, who has time?
Each month we sift and sort through the sea of fashion information and report the good stuff. We then place the good stuff here, on the Achievable Fashion Magazine. Out of the good stuff, we select what we feel is the most useful article and give it the coveted, “Article of the Month Award”.
This month, without question, the honor goes to In Styles, “Best of the Web – 2012.” In Style Magazine searched through the sea of websites and picked the best of the best. They did the work for you and I! Thanks In Style!
I have not had time to scan each site, but the ones I did are amazing, so enjoy!
Have you ever put on a necklace and thought, Oh this doesn’t work? If you are anything like me you have done so many times. The problem for me is that I am never quite sure why the necklace is a no go.
I know when a necklace looks good; I know when a necklace looks bad, I just have no clue why either way. The heaps of necklaces that are spilling out of my drawers and jewelry box rarely get worn because of this.
So, I have to say, I was thrilled to find this article in More Magazine. It explains what type of necklace to wear with what neckline.
I am convinced that part of the reason we are all living with a closet full of clothes and accessories with nothing to wear is that we don’t know how to wear what we have.

Article of the Month – goes to – drumrooooooll, Lucky Magazines’, “Your Perfect Shoe Closet!”
So, August was the last time that I announced an Article of the Month. It’s not that there hasn’t been an article worthy of this high honor; it’s that I can’t seem to get a grip and do my work.
I don’t know if it’s me or that my life is too busy. Ok who am I kidding, I know it is most likely my misuse of the time I have. For some reason I would rather spend what time I do have obsessing over what little time I have instead of being productive.
Back to Lucky Magazine’s, “Your Perfect Shoe Closet.” It is my job to find any and all useful fashion information and place it on the Achievable Fashion Magazine. By useful, you should know by now, I mean any fashion information us real ladies can use. My mission is to rid women of the befuddlement that fashion usually brings.
My mission begins with ridding women of that pesky closet full of clothes and nothing to wear – got one? Get our Book and get rid of it!!!’
Part of getting rid of that nonsense we call a closet is to get rid of what we don’t need and fill it with what we do need.
Problem – most of us don’t know what we should have. Solution – my book and great articles like this.

I love this red quilted MICHAEL KORS bag! I love everything about it! Well, almost everything. I don’t love the price tag, for me. Let me be clear about this, I absolutely believe it is worth every penny. For those who can comfortably afford it, I say run – don’t walk – to the nearest store you can purchase it at and get it!
For those, like me, who can’t spend $500 on one bag there are alternatives. That’s the whole point to Achievable Fashion. It is my goal to make fashion achievable to everyone. When I flip through the magazines instead of passing by things I can’t afford in disappointment; I take notes and find other great options.
Sometimes, the fashion world forgets that the average women cannot drop $500 on one item – okay let’s be real they always forget we can’t! So luckily there is Achievable Fashion – and me!
When I find alternatives I am not looking to find exact duplicates of things. I am looking to find items that will give the same look and feel as the original.
Here are three choices I found to give the feel of the MICHEAL KORS red quilted bag.
I love this article. Why? Because I see so many make the fashion mistakes that are highlighted in it.
Ridding ourselves of that closet full of clothes and nothing to wear is first and foremost about getting rid of anything that does not belong in the closet!
As you will see in this article, certain mistakes can not only destroy our hopes of mastering fashion – but will also add a decade to our age. Ouch! So, we know for sure we want to avoid them!
