Welcome to the Birkin inspired bag. Since the fashion world insists on forgetting that the majority of us live within the borders of a budget, I have made it my job to find affordable alternatives to costly designer choices. Because I know way more people do not have the unlimited funds that affords designer versions, I consider my job bringing fashion to the masses! I have always loved flipping through the magazines – but have found it frustrating  that everything between the covers is out of reach.

For the record, the alternatives I find are never represented as originals. They are inspired by the high end designers. The choices I find give the look and feel of the originals– minus the larger than my mortgage price tag. Also, for the record, I have no issue with those who purchase the originals – I just think it’s nice to offer an affordable version for those of us who can’t or won’t spend a small (or large) fortune.

I found this article “Why The Hermès Birkin Bag is a Better Investment Than Gold” in Time. It’s an interesting read. You have to know that if a bag, like the Birkin Bag is a better investment than gold, it probably carries a hefty price tag. According to the article, Birkin bags rang from $60,000 to $200,000. YIKES! Also, they are limited production, with long waiting lists – soooo, even if you can throw down the cash – you may still be out of luck!
