The Perfect Little Black Dress for Your Shape!

One of the main reasons we have closets full of clothes and nothing to wear is that the clothes we have do not fit us properly. You know what I mean. You have 9 pairs of black pants but only 1 fits you right. Yet, for some odd reason you (and all of us) keep all 9 pairs. So what happens when we get dressed? We put on and take off 8 pairs of pants until we put on the 9th pair that fits. By the time we get dressed we are exhausted, frustrated and ready to pull our hair out. So… here’s an idea. Get rid of the 8 pairs that do not fit and you will pick the right pair every time! Just saying.

This is why I have the Perfect Fit section on this site. I figure, since we all seem to have closets bursting with clothes that do not fit us, we all need any and all tips and tricks we can get on the subject of proper fitting clothes. Here is an article,  Fit Lab – Flattering Little Black Dresses for Every Shape from Real Simple magazine on how to find the perfect little black dress for your body.

3 Ways To Play Up Your Waist

This months Real Simple features an article, “How to play up your waist” by Elinor Smith, that I find very useful. I swear, ever since I turned 30 the struggle to keep my middle little has been overwhelming and is now an all out war. I would like to blame it on the fact that I have given birth, an excuse I used to detest before I had my son and one I swore I would never use. The reality is I like food, and lots of it. I like sweets, salty foods, and anything in between and because of that my middle often expands a bit. This article has some great tips for when that happens. It shows 5 styles to make your waist look great. These are my favorite three.

1. Crossover Neckline – Redirects focus from the bust to the waist.
2. Adjustable Band – Cinches in a full stomach. (A thanksgiving must!)
3. Wide Belt – Accentuates an hour glass figure and makes the waist look tiny!
