Fashion Friday – Transition

Summer Clothes that transition to Fall

–          A Blazer- extend the life of your sleeveless summer tops, add a blazer.

–          A Scarf – Tuck a fun scarf into your bag so you are prepared to that fall wind.

–          A blouse – A cropped sleeve blouse provides a little coverage without overheating.

–          A Cardigan – Throw one right over your favorite Tee, this will save you from the Sept Chills

–          Corduroys – These pants can brighten any fall wardrobe.

–          A Dress –  A dress can be wore year round, add dark tights and boots for when the wind picks up

–          A Jacket – Pick a jacket with attitude to wear with everything, like a motorcycle Jacket, when its to warm for that winter jacket

Fashion Friday – Help I Have a Closet Full of Clothes and Nothing to Wear!

Ok, if this is you, (it’s all of us) we have the solution. First and foremost, just in case I forgot to formally do so, let me introduce myself. I am a busy mom, I have a beautiful 5 year old little boy, Luigi, who is as busy as he is beautiful. I have 2 new businesses , I also teach and oversee a business course at the local cosmetology school, all while keeping Luigi front and center and first on my list. So the last thing I need is to have a closet full of clothes and nothing to wear, which has lead me on this journey of creating Achievable Fashion. My goal is help Real Women all over the world make sense out of their closets and to have fashion become Achievable. So first, we all need to create / Build a Basic Classic Wardrobe. From these key classic pieces we are able to put together outfits for any occasion! Second, we need to be able to make sense of the current fashions and implement them into our lives, keeping in mind that the fashion world has never understood that busy moms have no time, money, or need for what comes down the Runway – Breath – after saying all that I have made it my mission to clear up all the confusion and befuddlement that comes along with fashion.

Here is a great article, “8 Ways to Dress up your Tee” from InSyle mag, that supports my theory that as long as we have a Basic Classic Wardrobe – we can do anything and everything with it. Here are 8 different ways to wear one of the key pieces in the Achievable Fashion Basic Classic Wardrobe – the tee shirt. This is what we are all about – getting more with less and making Fashion Effortless.

A vest can add a sweet / tough look .
With a textured skirt a graphic tee will pop.
A scarf dresses up a plain tee.
A jacket – beaded or little – will jazz up your tee.

DIY tee – spatter some paint or dye on an old tee to be arty and edgy.
A statement necklace will add the WOW factor!
Formal shorts make an over-sized tee sexy.
Scrunch the sleeves – for the boyfriend tee look.

Useful / Fun Magazine Articles: We Love Denim!

We Love Denim

Since 1873 when Levi’s introduced the first  jeans, riveted 501s, denim has been a staple in our wardrobes. This year jean lovers can rejoice as their favorite makes a huge splash for spring and summer. If you can’t get enough denim we recommend Denim A to Z (pages 159 – 166) in the June issue of In Style, a fun article that showcases 26 points of denim. We also liked the trend alert Distressed Denim Cutoffs in  the  June / July People Style Watch. (page 50)

Achievable Fashions’ Favorite 5 Denim Looks

Baggy – We all need a pair of jeans that work no matter what time of the month it is.

Wear these with a fitted top to balance

Frayed –  This  look that is very now!

Rolled up –   This is a great way to get different looks from the same pair of jeans. Roll up any pair of jeans wear with heels for a retro look , with flats for a more casual look.

Cutoffs – These can be dressed up or down. Baggy top with heels to dinner, T- shirt and flats  to a picnic.

High waist  – Add a tapered leg and bring back the 70’s. Wear these with pumps for an exaggerated look.
