Wardrobe Essentials – The Tee is a Basic Classic Fashion Staple!

By now you know that I love, love, love classic pieces. If you have downloaded my first book, you know that you need these classic pieces, aka essential wardrobe items if you hope to rid yourself of that closet full of clothes and nothing to wear. A good portion of the reason for the infamous closet full of clothes and nothing to wear is that we lack the essentials / classic pieces.

If you have read my first book — get it now and get a grip, you know that tees are an essential part of your Basic Classic Wardrobe (BCW). Tees can be worn with anything, anywhere.

Everyone wears tees. Check out these celebs sporting their favorite tees.

When you are first building your BCW I suggest you get one black tee and one white tee. Once you have your white and black tees, you can add more tees to your closet. The key to building a working wardrobe is to get one of everything you need first, then go back and add in your multiples. Add in as many as you like, you really can’t have too many great fitting tees.

Trend Tuesday – 1 Little Black Dress – 6 Looks!

I firmly stand behind the idea that if you have the Achievable Fashion Basic Classic Wardrobe (BCW) you will be ready for any occasion in no time. If you take the time to build the BCW once, your closet will become your best friend. If you follow the rules in our book, Achievable Fashion, everything in your closet will fit you like a glove and make you look fabulous. You will no longer be fighting, “a closet full of clothes and nothing to wear”. You will be more creative with fewer pieces. This blog is one of my favorites to date. It shows how 4 accessories; a scarf, pin, and set of earrings can make a simple little black dress gala worthy. The first look is with the scarf wrapped around the shoulders, tied and secured with a pin. I have placed the matching clip earrings on the shoes. For the second look I tied the scarf in front and draped half in the back and half in the front, again, securing with the pin. For the third look I tied the scarf around the neck like a bow and secured the pin in the middle. The fourth look I repeated the bow, but this time around the waist. Pin center of the bow. (Look number 4 is my favorite, I wore the scarf in the same way with a turtle neck and dress pants to an open house and everyone went crazy!) The fifth look I draped the scarf to the back with 1/3 over the chest, secured with clip earrings and Hollywood tape. Finally, look 6 I draped 1/3 of the scarf over the back, secured with one earing and Hollywood tape, draped the other over the body to the opposite hip and secured with other earring, pin and Hollywood tape. Wow! When you have a great wardrobe foundation you can multiply your closet with each trend or accessory.

This is the very reason I created Achievable Fashion – If you have essential classic wardrobe pieces your closet will be your best friend. Here are great ways to wear black pants, one pair of great fitting black pants can go a long, long, way! In fact that one pair of great fitting black pants will go much further than the 5 – 8 pairs in your closet that are not great fitting. Those 5 – 8 not so great fitting pairs of black pants stay in our closets and become part of the dressing aerobics, you know – pants on, pants off, pants on, pants off, sweat, frustration, “OMG, why do I have a closet full of clothes and nothing to wear?” Help!!!
